Pulse Snack



500 gms kanuli
a piece of asafoetida
6 red chillies
a pinch of soda bicard
1/4 coconut,scraped   2 green chillies
oil as needed
1 tsp mustard seeds
salt to taste
a few curry leaves

    * Clean and soak the kabuli chana overnight in water with a pinch of soda bicard .
    * Boil the chana with salt in the same water till soft. Drain and keep aside.
    * Heat 4 tbsps of oil and fry mustard seeds,asafotida,broken red chillies ,chopped green chillies and curry leaves.
    * Add the cooked chana and the coconut scrapings. fry for a while.
    * Remove and serve hot.
    * If mangoes are in season,chopped green mangoes can also be added along with coconut scraping.
    * Any whole pulse can be substituted.for kabuli chana.
