GAJAR KA HALWA


CARROT HALWA- IT IS A DELICIOUS MOUTH SMACKING DISH, PREPARED DURING FESTIVALS. IT IS DIWALI TIME AND WE CAN ADD IT TO THE SWEET DISH LIST.

CARROT HALWA IS A HIT AMONGST KIDS AND ELDERS TOO.
 

INGREDIENTS: - 1) CARROT! 1/4 KG (grated)
                               2) SUGAR    ¼ KG
                               3) GHEE/ OIL FOR DEEP FRYING...
                               4)  CASHEWNUTS 10 No.s (diced)
                               5)  WATER! /2 CUP
 

PROCEDURE: - Clean the carrots and peel the skin, grate the carrot and keep aside.
                             Heat ghee or oil in a heavy bottomed vessel and fry the grated carrot
                             For a few minutes, add water and keep stirring till the carrot is cooked.
                             Add sugar and stir the mixture constantly.
                             Fry the cashew in ghee and garnish the HALWA with it.
                             Serve hot or cold

OPTIONAL: -      HALF CUP MILK ALSO CAN BE ADDED INSTEAD OF WATER  TO THE MIXTURE WHILE COOKING.BUT IT CANNOT BE

PRESERVED FOR MORE THAN A DAY.
