Droplet Crisps



2 cups rice flour   a pinch of asafoetida
1/4 cup roasted urad dal powder  a pinch of soda bicarb
1/2 coconut,scraped  oil as needed
1 tbsp sesame seeds   salt to taste

* Sieve the rice flour and steam it dry in a pressure cooker leave aaside to       cool
* Mix the rice flour dal powder coarsely ground coconut sesame seeds     asafoetida,soda nbicarb,salt and two tablespoons hot oil.
* Make into a thick soft dough with water keep aside for an hour
* Knead again and make into tiny marble sized balls with greased palms.
* Heat oil and deep fry them till golden brown and crisp.
* Store in airtight tins.
* Variation : Add to the same dough a tablespoon of chana dal (soaked for two hours)and two teaspoons of chilli powder.Make small marble sized balls,flatten them into small rounds and deep fry.These are called thatti.
