3 cups rice flour  a pinch of soda bicarb
1/4cup gram dal   a pinch of asafoetida
1/4cup moong dal   oil as needed
1/4cup urdal dal   salt to taste
1 tbsp ssesame seeds


* Sieve the rice flour and steam it dry in the preasure cooker.Leavve asside to cool for one hour.
* Dry roast the dals to a golden brown colour and powder them.
* Mix the rice flour ,dal powders, sesame seeds,asafoetida, salt and soda bicarb.
* Pour 2 tablespoons oil and make into a soft dough with water.Leave for one hour.
* Heat oil for deep frying .Press batches of doough throughly a chaklli mould into circles and deep fry.
* Drain and reserve.
* Manakombu should be dry and crisp. Keep in an airtight tin.
